CV in Morocco: what recruiters really expect
The language: the one of the job ad
The safest rule: answer in the language of the ad. A French ad calls for a French CV, an English ad for an English CV. Multinationals and service centres often ask for English; public administration and many companies work in French. If you aim at both worlds, prepare both versions: translating a CV is done properly ad by ad, not word for word.
Photo, age, marital status: often seen, never required
Many Moroccan CVs carry a photo and personal details. No rule requires it. If you add them, keep it sober. And if you apply to an international group, the parent company habits often apply: they go towards fewer personal details, not more. For Canada the rule is strict and has its own guide.
The sections that matter
- A CV title equal to the name of the target position.
- Experiences dated month and year, with facts and results.
- Education with the exact names of the degrees: bachelor, master, specialised technician, vocational training.
- Languages with an honest level: the stated level gets checked in the interview.
- Skills the experiences prove, not a decorative list.
Automatic screening reaches Morocco too
Large employers and recruitment firms use screening software: your CV is read by a machine before a human. One column, no tables, no text inside images: ATS CV rules apply in any country. Check your CV with the free analysis before sending it.
Frequently asked questions
One page or two?
One page early in a career. Two pages are fine when experience truly fills them. Beyond that, the CV stops being read.
A CV in Arabic?
If the ad is in Arabic, yes: the rule remains the language of the ad. That is the case in the public sector and part of services.
The same CV for Morocco and abroad?
No. A CV for Canada follows other rules, with no photo or personal details; the Canadian CV guide details them. Adapting the CV to the country and the ad is the work the optimiser automates.
